The village of Ingleton is surrounded by magnificent countryside with caves, waterfalls, and mountains. The Craven Fault crosses the area and geological and archaeological sites abound.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park , Ingleton is an ideal holiday destination for outdoor activities  or just relaxing in tranquil countryside. It is also an excellent touring centre with the Lake District and north-west coast only a day-trip away.

The village boasts a wide range of accommodation - from bunk barns to guest houses and hotels - so can cater for most requirements.

Local attractions include:

Ingleborough, the backdrop to IngletonIngleton has good road links with easy access from the A65 Leeds-Lakes road and the M6 junctions 34 and 36 being only a short drive away.

The village lies on one of the principal East-West routes across the Pennines (used from prehistoric and Roman times) with the B6255 joining the A684 at Hawes, only 16 miles to the east. (Map and Travel Information )

The Ingleton skyline is dominated by Ingleborough, at 723 metres (2372 feet) the best known of Yorkshire's Three Peaks. The ascent, by a relatively easy path from the village, yields panoramic views towards Morecambe Bay and the remains of an Iron Age fort can be seen on the summit plateau.
